I'm not sure what everyone else thinks about George Lynch, but I think he's amazing and I was just curious to know why he's not in the Artist Studies study section?

He has such a unique sound. I've been told that he does a lot of flattened 5ths but, I don't know much else about it.

Is there a chance that some George Lynch studies are coming?

We can't put everyone in there though, many guitarist have influenced generations of players. I think each genre should have a section, and then we could add some more names. I could sit here and type at least a hundred players that have influenced me, and I still wouldn't have them all. Maybe in the future we will add to this section, and the genres may be a good way to go.

As for George Lynch, try doing a search. Someone may have mentioned him in a lesson or something.

As much as it pains me to say this, I'd trade Eddie for George. :o

I only say that because George has such a unique sound.

He's said to be the one that gave EVH, a few tricks for his bag. He is awesome, try to find some of his stuff too.

Sorry forgot to tell you his first name is Allen.

I really like Lynch a helluva lot....I've been a big fan since playing Dokken cover tunes way back in the 80's.
The problem is, that I'm just not real good at copying his style at all. Early on back when I started out, I would try hard to copy all of his stuff, even bought his instructional vid & all that. I just can't ever really mimic his playing, so I'd be a little hesitant to put out a lesson based on his style....even though he's actually influenced me a great deal. :(

Hi Don... You have a HUGE heads up on most then if you've at least tried. I promise, you put it out there, they will come! I'll be the first in line. Mostly I'd like to know how he gets his tones. All I know is that they are diminised chords. At least thats what I was told.

CMon, give it a shot. :p

I'll see what I can piece together for ya. Are more interested in his Rhythm techniques/ideas than his Lead work? Just wondering what you'd be most interested in seeing first. His tones are a little tougher to tackle, since I don't have a huge arsenal of equipment to mess with....But I will see what I can do.

Later,
Don

Ha... I don't care.. If it's george, it's gonna be good. It's not so much his gear anyway, it's his style. Those funky sounding chords which, again I'm told are diminished chords. Actually read.

I will say though, being rather new to guitar, rythm is going to be easier for me to play than leads. I would think anyway.
