I just need to vent.

I recently learned a basic version of under the double eagle (Bluegrass tune). Now I'm trying to put it to the metronome and am starting slow... I can barely get through the tune :( . I know it's good for me, and I'm learning, but its extremely frustrating.

Go slower. Seriously, it's all about getting used to the movements. The more comfortably you start, the faster you'll be.
I want the bomb
I want the P-funk!

My band is better than yours...

Just a suggestion but get yourself a basic drum machine rather than a metronome.

Metronomes just click in time and don't really give you any inspiration.
If you can fine a drum machine and maybe download the MIDI file associated with the song you're learning .... or even use a karaoke version of the song, you'll have a much easier time because you can feel the songs better than just listening to a static click.
