Hi Kevin, thanks for the comment. The backing guitar was an Ibanez Jem through a Marshall stack mic'd up with an SM57. My lead part was direct through a Rocktron Prophesy II -pretty straight forward settings, gain at about 7, noise supressor before everything, bit of compression, a tad of dark reverb and delay. Also, I swapped out the pups on my Ibanez Universe for a set of Dimarzio Evolution 7's. The Prophesy is a great piece of gear, gets me the sound I've always wanted and the best thing is it's plug and play - sounds the same between takes on different days. I always tweak the dynamics in the post fx with a free VST plug-in called Cyanide to add some soft clip, helps to 'brown' the tone a little. You should check out Cyanide VST, very easy to use and it really helps lead guitar tones to blend and sit in the mix.
