First saw this guy like, 10 years ago in Toronto & he totally blew me away.
Apparently he died from retinal cancer, the same thing that blinded him as at age 1.

Oh man, that is so tragic.
He was a really talented musician.

Yep... I first saw Jeff play in that, er.... not so good Swayze movie 'RoadHouse'... Loved his style.

Another loss... Rock in Peace Jeff...

To be honest, I'd never heard of the guy. Looked at that posted Youtube video with SRV, and was BLOWN AWAY! That's a very interesting way he plays the guitar, I'm extremely impressed by that alone. Just looks WAAAY harder to learn that way.

Second, he'd been blind since Age 1. Learning guitar with that disability is indeed a GREAT accomplishment in itself. It's one thing to be blind, and play differently. But to TRULY ROCK like this guy does, is awe-inspiring! Definitely will be checking out some of his albums.

Truly is a shame, that I hadnt been introduced to him while he was alive. :(

I didn't know he died. I don't read or watch news so this is somewhat of a shock.

I remember listening to his record when I was a kid. I had a big turntable that sounded like crap but man did I listen to that record. See the light ... amazing album.

thanks for the songs Jeff

On Monday night i was fooling around with the backing track of "While my guitar gently weeps" and kept listening to Jeffs version to get ideas since the original is so bland by comparison. Next morning i hear the sad news.....coincidental of course, but weird nonetheless.

He was a major part of the Canadian scene for a long time. One of my fondest memories of him was hearing him at the park in the middle of Banff on Canada Day in '87.

He moved into jazz years ago, and became just as significant in that genre.

He'll be missed.

Have been a fan of Jeff's since day 1. The pickin' world has lost a great contributor and he will be sorely missed, but I know he can see clearly now.
RIP Jeff

A truly unique talent and a great loss at such an early age. Say "hi" to Jimi for me while you're there and thanks for all the beauty that you have left behind.
