I've never had any problem singing and playing guitar at the same time.
It just comes naturally.... I play notes and chords on the guitar and randomly come up with lyrics and melodies to go along with em.
Maybe it just comes naturally to some people... like making up lyrics to songs I hear on TV like Star Trek or whatever..
