I don't have a mic, I read this guy said he got his stuff to go onto his computer, from his amp? Can I do this? If so, what do I need?

You can use the line out of your amplifier and connect it to your soundcard to record.

u might need a little adaptor that changes a lead output to a smaller mic input.

if u do the sound quality wont be that good. if u have a 'face' on the soundcard. its a thing thats like below ur CD drive thats got lots of nobs and stuf.

hmm, you should try to buy a DI box- that is if you dont want to use a mic. Ive always liked using mics though.

wanna try something ghetto? take a pair of headphones and plug it into the place your mic goes... It should work like a mic, just not as good. hahaha. a fun trick for ya.

try the soundtech light snake. Instrument to usb cable. No mic needed, and it works really well. You can use it from your line out too if you choose.

I've been using ghetto methods since I first got my guitar, before I had a pickup and amp, I used a sonic-ears thing, if you know what that is, it amplifies sound and it's a little square thing, I'd put that into my guitar and play with head-phones on... which is pretty much what you said.. but with sonic-ears :p
