so i just got reaper, this recording program, and i'm having a little trouble. i setup all my stuff, and then i connect to the computer (i use an adaptor to plug a 1/4' cable into the line in on my soundcard) but when i try and record, it seams like all it get's is just...alot of noise. i don't know what i'm doing wrong, and i don't think it's too much gain, cause it does this even when on clean. i think it might be the adaptor, so is there a usb guitar input thing out there that doesn't come with a bunch of effects and amp models on it, cause all i need is a clean connection to the computer. thanks alot!

Go to your voume control (where you adjust computer volume and what not) and try moving the line volume or mic volume (depending on what you inputed to.)

if u have an onboard line in. which i think u do there should be a volume controll next to it. a dial. turn it down.

also turn ur amp volume down.
