I am so glad that I don't base my self-worth on how fast I can play.

You can see from the expressions on his face that this music is drawn from his many years drinking deeply form the cup of life, the mistakes he has made and the people who have taught him to live, love, pick up the pieces and start again !!

For life is quite absurd and death's the final word, You must always face the curtain with a bow
Forget about your sin - give the audience a grin
Enjoy it - it's your last chance anyhow.

He looked like he could care less. Seriously, he looked so bored and yawned in the middle. He should go play video games, or baseball or something.

Looks to me like his parents have beaten it into him. To my mind, this results in one of two things happening:
1) as soon as he come out of the other side of puberty he will never touch a guitar again
2) He will go off to Juilliard and become rich and famous
lets hope it is #2 eh !

That was so terrible, it was actually quite comical.

I hate it when people treat music as a science...

The sad thing is that the kid has a lot of potential eg he has the technique licked for the most part. However, the music makes you feel about as inspired as he looks.... kind of like an automoton looking out of the window with a vacant expression as he goes through the moves... rather than actually getting something out of putting his heart into something... bizarre really
