cleaning a guitar

hey

how do i clean a guitar...

im so terrible at it.. i wipe my strat with an old underwear then once i tried to put some oil in the bridge and it caught some dust then "unscrewed" a couple of bridge"tooth" then i cant get it in the same place before... now theyre not aligned poor me.. and one more thing how can i clean the "neck" cuz there's this stain on it that i cant remove.. i think its a permanet stain :( huhu


im a total mischeief about guitars now im planning to spraypaint (red) my pickguard by myself.. am i killing my guitar? how do i take care of it... from dust and other unwnted projectiles.. rust..etc?

well what i do is..use a cloth..and just wipe off dust and residue on the strings...clean the pickups...i have yet to use cleaning agents...i wipe the tope of the fretboard...then go underneath..the strings and all...thats how i do it

fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck!

i just did unscrew my pickguard and its giving me a hard time to place it back again.. the springs were magnitized by the pickups and i cant fit it in the pickguard properly -DOOMED- can a local store fix this?

If by "local store" you mean specialised guitar shop, then it shouldn't be a problem. If you mean catch-all music shop, then you may not be so lucky... it's worth asking, anyhow.
