i couldnt play solos mostly 9th t0 16th fret while standing :(

Your guitar might be strapped too low. If the body is lower than your crotch then thats probably why. Try shortening the strap so the body is a little higher than your crotch. Other than that, you just have to get use to the difference. You could try putting your right foot on a chair and hold the guitar verticle for solos.

I find that the most comfortable way for me is to have the neck about in line with where my belt is.

Lower a guitar is, the harder it is to play solo's. All these players sling 'em low b/c they think it looks cool...It's not about looks...
