It sounded off to me in more than a few places (the bends mostly) but it was ok.

The good this is it sounded very similar to it and the timing was almost perfect. But you seems to overshoot your bends. And when you bend, try to vibrato and you may want to put more conviction in the phrases. :)

True, it didn't have the feel of the original. A little emotion would do it some good.

You know the sound the other strings were making? You were getting noise from strings you weren't supposed to right? try putting a hair tie around the last fret you don't need. It'll effectivly mute those noisy strings and make you sound alot cleaner.

The hair tie thing....heard of something like that before back in the day but for the life of me I cannot remember what you are referring to. Have a pic or a detailed explaination maybe? Just curious more than anything.

As for the solo, I thought you did pretty good. I notice you don't use your pinky much....personal preference I am sure but I find that by using my pinky on long spreads my hands are quicker and in place for the deep bends....might help on the bends to give you some speed to add the vibrato?

Of course I doubt I would play it any better....easy to backseat drive. Enjoyed the video bud.
I use heavy strings, tune low, play hard and floor it. Floor it. That's technical talk.

All you do is get a hair tie the round elastic type (I use a scrunchie becuse the shape allows me to mute some strings and leave some open) and put it over the headstock and down to the neck. When you dont need it you can leave it sit right above the knut. When you need it just slide it down to a fret where you won't need the frets behind the hair tie. So if you solo from the 9th fret and up you can put the hair tie at the 8th fret. It mutes the strings so you can do fast stuff like tapping and sweeps without having to concentrate so much on muting. It is best not to lean on it too much you wanna learn to play as clean as possible but it really does make a huge difference.

I'm almost positive Schmange goes into detail about it and shows a video on his all about tapping lessons.
And Pure, yer video was enjoyable, as who doesn't like that solo eh? Maybe dial down the distortion to just an overdrive, and like they said, nail those bends and vibratos and you got it down.

Thanks Majic and I will definately check out the lesson too....

I most likely will try it out but don't plan on using it might get some grief from the good guitarists I hang with if I have a scrunchy on my headstock heheh..

Thanks though for the explaination, might just keep one in the case for those ahh Corona induced sessions of fuzz.

When people try to give me grief about having a hair tie on my ax I remind them that Betsy (My LP) is a girl. :D
