I just bought a Fender Highway One Strat(alder body, rosewood fretboard). After experimenting a little, I've realized I'm looking for a pickup with a little more of a full, smooth, warm tone than what the stock pickup can offer. I play mostly jazz and blues as well as Hendrix/Clapton esque rock. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

I had some fmic custom shop fat 50's they were very nice.
very full sound, a little bit dirty if you beat them but unmistakebly strat!
at the same time i was also using texas specials but they were quite thin and very bright up to the fats!
everyday i have the blues!

I only have one answer when it comes to pickup quiries...Bare Knuckle Pickups!

For a strat, an Apache or sultans set would do you great.

Sultans would probably be my choice...a callibrated three single coil set, modelled on the sound of....Mr Mark Knopfler!

Just do yourself a favour and check out Bareknuckel before you buy anything else.
