I have a line 6 spider II 112 combo, and whenever I play higher notes through it I get a sound tahrt sounds like the vibrato effect. And also when I play the higher notes they dont fade out like normal, they kinda cut and I get a weird static noise, and I also get the static noise when any of my other notes fade out. I have no idea where these sounds are coming from or why my higher notes sound like crap.

sounds like it might just be feedback? have you tried pointing your amp or guitar in differant directions?

ok i played it on clean and it sounds fine, its when i get into higher distortion settings that I hear the static. And I also noticed that when I have the red LED on the Insane setting higher notes will not play out at all. They sound really bad and cut after about a second of playing. I dont know if thats the way it works or what. But my amp sound fine until the higher distortion settings, so idk if it will do that or not, or if something I did when the amp was new or what. But I did notice that some of the wires in my guitar cord seem to be coming off the jack that plugs into the amp and guitar. Could this be the source of faulty higher pitches or not?

the Spider has a onboard noise gate. basically, when you go into something like a high distortion mode, its ready to get rid of any access noise, such as any noise that happens when a note dies out. its just something you have to work with.

there is, however a way to switch off the noise gate, I believe. if you have your manual, look through it.
