Today, my dog Spike passed away - well, actually, put to sleep after being diagnosed with a nigh-on incurable cancer. He was going on nine years old.

Well, um... I just thought I'd share that with you, in case you needed some cheering up

That bites dude. I don't really have anything to say that hasn't been said already, those of us that have pets have/will be right there with you. And it's not exactly uplifting.

My brother's rat Maggie had some sort of cancer-type thing. She was very ill and not getting any better, so my dad and I put her out of her misery. I know how it is. Sorry 'bout your dog.

My dog that I had for as long as I can remember got put down because of arthritis a couple years ago. I cried and cried. Sorry about your loss.
You go outside and practice screaming. We'll play music while you're gone.

I'm very sorry to hear about your dog! I know it's a tough thing to deal with. About 2 years ago, my dog all of a sudden came down with pneumonia, and had a lot of internal infection from something. I took him to the vet, and they gave him some medacine and stuff, and kept him overnight, but he passed away late that night.

It's alway's tough, but just remember all that good times you had, and that they aren't in anymore pain.

I'm honestly sorry about your dog.
I've had so many pets get scmucked by cars that I don't even care anymore.

Man, I live beside a highway - to be honest, I'm just surprised that he never ran out onto the road.
My other dog is pining - we bought her when she was a pup, and he "raised" her, I suppose.
Ah, well, I'll stop the sob stories now. *turns off mournful violin music*
Thanks very much, everybody. :)

Sorry about your loss, I feel your pain. I went through the same thing last August with my dog, Eddie. He was 10 when they found a cancerous tumor the size of a grapefruit in his abdomin. I opted for surgery to have it removed but they found it to be tangled up all in his intestines, plus it had already spread all over....nothing they could do so I had to make the decision to have him put down. Although it's been like 7 months, I still get a tear in my eye when I start thinking about him...He was my boy..

Just remember that having the dog put down was the best thing for him.

Again, my condolences. And yes, I too know the feeling. It prolly doesn't help too much to know that you did the right thing...he's still gone. :( (That's the 1st time I've had a reason to use a frownie face, so I did. I think I'll stick with smiley.)

I too have gone through it.My dog had bone cancer and right before we were about to start him on kemo, he died that mourning. MY whole family was standing around him crying him. He was practically my little brother, not to mention one of the smartest dogs I know. But lucky me he passed his knoledge onto the younger dog we had gotton a few months prior. But I'm happy to say, he died one happy dog. I hope everything goes over well, you never know, this could be prime time for a new song to come out of your creative fingertips.

I actually think those lyrics are pretty cool, and I'm not one who likes most lyrics.
