Tortex it is! or gator grips...if the shop is out of tortex..1.5mm? thats what I use.

But even then, when playing my baritone...espesially with open "chugs" like 6strngs was playing, I wear them down...guess thats the price you pay for having such heavy guage strings...

what string guage are you playing 6strngs?

I'd figure he was playing a cheese grater if he turned his pick into powder.

to be honest, I don't know what the strings are on this guitar.. I bought it a couple weeks back used from a private seller, and I haven't changed them since I got it. but I'd guess that the thickest string is between 48 and 52

No, clearly a washboard. Everybody plays metal on a washboard these days.
You go outside and practice screaming. We'll play music while you're gone.

Pshh. I can play smoke on the water on the cheese grader, while harmonizing that with some slick washboard lead licks!

I have a binder here at work that has an elastic chord wrapped around it. Every so often I'll take it and play it like one of those basses that rednecks play. Y'know, the ones that are a mop stick in a bucket with a big string attached. Granted it's incredibly limiting and doesn't sound very good, but still it's moderately fun.

Sometimes I take an elastic band, stretch it far with both hands, and pluck it with my teeth.
