right, so just a minute ago I was in my room, the house is empty, so I feel free to turn the amp up nice and loud. I start having a little jam with myself for about 25 minutes straight. (I tend to loose track of time when I get myself into these jams) thrashing out some metal, when I decide the perfect breakdown for the end is to just start chugging away open string power chords at breakneck speeds... well after a few seconds of this, I smell something burning.. I open my eyes (I keep them closed when I'm getting really into the music) and I look down to see my pick is half gone, and I have grinded it to an orange powder, now covering my strings and pickguard. I suppose it is possible to rock too hard! :D

ive always used Heavy Fender ones. never burnt one out yet. hahha. but wow man, that takes talent. burning thru solid plastic. brilliant.

my souvoneir (sp?) for going to hard rock cafe was buying a dozen guitar picks. this was one of them. they are fender medium picks that just say hard rock cafe on them.
I couldn't tell you the exact speed, but I was having a good day speed-wise, and was able to pick faster then usual today. so if I had to take a guess at the speed, probably 16th's at around 180 bpm :eek: it was pretty insane (I used my metronome to make that educated guess, it could be more or less..)

I snap Fender mediums like theres no tomorrow. The Fender heavys I used to use just burn away. The only picks I like are the green Planet Waves heavys I got. Ive yet to bust or burn one.

i used to get those cheapo plastic picks at a guitar shop downtown and i would break them in like 20 minutes. it was rediculous. i only use nylons now; the 88's and 1 mm's are really nice, and theyre IMPOSSIBLE to break. i still have ones from months ago, and theyre in every single pair of my pants in those little pockets that look like they were made to hold picks.

I've been using some kind of Fender picks my brother bought. I just use whatever's there at the time. I'm not "picky" about picks. :D

What colour are the .88s? I mostly use the green ones, but the yellows and blues are good too.

I use Dunlop Big Stubby's. Solid plastic. 3mm impossible to break. they cant bend and i think there great.
