Well, I was having problems recording via USB so I changed my setup. Now I have my Drum Machine and BOSS GT-8 run into a mixer then the mixer is run to my soundcard which is an Echo Mia Midi card. I have my mixer ctrl room outputs run to my KRK RP-5 monitors via 1/4 cables and my soundcard is also run to my monitors (For playback while recording) via XLR-TRS cables. This setup works great for recording except for one small detail I didn't really think about. I have no way to listen to playback via headphones for late night recording. I guess I will have to get another small mixer to remedy this little SNAFU. Unless someone has a better idea. HELP!!!!!

The only thing I can think of is a little thing called a headphone amp. I'll show you a link. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Live/Sound/Signal/Processors?sku=180615 It may require some different wiring but it should help you out a bit. We used these things in the studio I worked at. I figure you can go from the mixer to this then to your monitors and still have an output for your phones.

Hmmm.....That might work. I was also thinking, if I could get a set of cables that were 1/4 jacks on one end and RCA jacks on the other end. I could run that from my output on my soundcard to my tape in on my mixer and hit the tape to ctrl room button on my mixer and it should do the trick. Do they make that type of cable?

Damn nevermind I missed it. You need something from your pc to headphones not mixer to headphones. Let me think a minute.

Rca's out from the pc back to the mixer. And use the headphone jack on the mixer? Yeah it would work just make sure when you record to cut the feed from the PC or there'll be some hellish feed back.

I've got a similar cable and I'm testing the theory at the moment. Right now I'm getting alot of pops and clicks with playback. Still working on it.

Well, it works but I am skeptical about it. I don't know why yet but I'm not to enthused about it. But it works. :D

Maybe a better cable would help with noise. I'm sure you'll work it out. Send me some samples when you do.

Got the noise fixed. It was a setting under the soundcard's software. Anyway, the method of running it from my soundcard back into my mixer via the tape return seems to work pretty good so far. I only have one cable of the two that I need but I will be making a trip to the shop tomorrow and should be good to go. Thanks for your help bro.
