11 year-old needs advice on pick slides!!!

Ok, im 11 years old, been playing for 2 moths. I can play ac/dc, led zepplin, aerosmith, nickelback, nirvana & others, BUT I CANT GET DOWN HOW TO PICK SLIDE!!! i turn my amp up on distorted and try pressing hard, then lighter, but it just makes a weird screeching noise. & i know that isnt how it is supposed to sound!! so if u can help me plz do!!!

if you mean playing slide guitar, you have to press it softly, so that it wont touch the frets, and try to play it on clean first and then ckrank it up to distorson.

hmm and if your talking about a pick scratch thing, just take the pick and scrape it down the neck along the wound strings. it will sound very high pitched.

the same thing happens to me when i try to pick slide, and i tried everything yall said. i'm guessing its the pick. i use jim dunlop jazz 3 picks. i quit trying to pick slide cause it sounded horrible and it ruined my picks.

thx for all of tha advice ppl! But i found out that if u use a fingerpick it sounds waaayyy better!! O & tha poll, i dunno y i did it lol....IF U CAN POST ON MY "SOLO'S" THREAD AND GIVE SOME ADVICE, THX

if u wanna pick slide, turn the pick alomst flat to get that glassy sound that you are probably looking for, you must be holding the edge against the string if you're getting that screechy sound.
