stupid sustain

somehow my guitar has lost some sustain and cant hold a note for 6 seconds.. anone able to tell me how to "add" sustain? this makes no sense to me how a guitar can lose sustain :confused: :mad: :(

Well depending on what you got of course...try using a bit of vibrato to help keep the sustain. I'm sorry I really have no problems with sustain. What do you play? I got a Gibson LP with new humbuckers. The Dimebucker I put in it can just go for days.

i dont think it can be the amp's fault cause its still pretty new and my guitar was sounding better yesterday when i was writing a song.

yea it was the strings. bought some d'addario .008-.032's today, man these strings fly! and also the sustain got better again.

yep they're not 32 lol theyre 38.

these are d'addario extra light strings i was so scared to put em on!
they're

.008 .010 .015 .021 .030 .038

my first d'addarios. imho theyre better than the ernie balls i always bought but cost a buck more. the lightest ive ever gotten also.

i also managed to get the string action to 4/10 of a centimeter..

well how i play, they barely buzz ever unless i hit hard. since i hit the strings with my pick at an angle, it gets out a good tone without all that vibration.
