I like the solo in the middle of Nothing Else Matters by Metallica and also the one in The Unforgiven, also by Metallica. I can't think of any others right now 'cause I've got a sinus infection kickin my arse.........
I am a constant evolving music machine. Oh Man, I just forgot what I was playing. Oh well, on to the next song.

This is a hard one... of course I can't just pick one... and I will certainly think of more as the day goes by... but...

Riffs: Master of Puppets (Metallica), Cowboys From Hell (Pantera), Taylor (Jack Johnson), Symphony of Destruction (Megadeth), Mary had a Little Lamb (Stevie Ray Vaughan), Money (Pink Floyd), and a lot of newer stuff from Chevelle, Breaking Benjamin, and 10 Years...

Solos: One (Metallica), anything by Stevie Ray, Covered in Rain (John Mayer), Losin' Your Mind (Zakk Wyldes Pride and Glory), November Rain (G&R), the list could go on and on... can't choose one.

The riff I really love is the breakdown riff on Bohemian Rhapsody.

My favorite solo is either Crazy Train or Mr. Crowley.

[QUOTE=aschleman]and a lot of newer stuff from Chevelle[QUOTE]

I can't understand why more people on this site are not into these guys. Or should I say don't talk much about them. I really love the music from Chevelle I just hope they have what it takes to stay around and keep creating music.

Most Memorable Riff: "Enter Sandman" by Metallica

Most Memorable Solo: "Another Brick in the Wall" by Pink Floyd
"It's all folk music... I ain't never heard no horse sing!"
- Attributed variously to Leadbelly and Louis Armstrong

If at first you don't succeed, you are obviously not Chuck Norris.

The best ever solo?
Might be the solo in "Have you heard about my baby" in the John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers with Eric Clapton just tearing the place apart.
Another Clapton great, the closing solo on the song, White Room is way up there in air with the greatest.

Or could be any number of licks traded by Jerry Miller of Moby Grape, playing with Mike Bloomfield on a little known jam album, Grape Jam. There's some incredible stuff put down in that record, enough to send chills down your spine!

Santana and Trey Anastasio have their moments, too.
Or a little known cat named Roger Heath, who I'm sure is somewhere out there, blowing some people's minds.
