yeah ive been wondering if string gauges affect how fast you can play.

1. i wanna be able to finger a string without having to put pressure
2. im using ernie ball skinny top heavy bottom strings. i think theyre 13 gauge lightest string.

i dont know if it was a good idea cause theyre heavy gauged strings and i want to know if lighter gauge strings are better.

also do lighter gauge strings affect the sound? if so how?

i play with 11's and am thinking of jumping back up to 12's or maybe 13s....not to get faster but just because i like nice, heavy strings that i can feel.
okay...my post is done...goodbye.

I've been breaking alot of strings lately ( even in drop tuning ) and I think it is because I play with 13's. I like the heavy strings for their thick sound and playability, but I can't afford to pop strings on stage or even in the garage, any advice?
