I install >Dunlop Straploks< on all of my guitars.

Cheap? Isn't it worth twelve or thirteen bucks to keep your guitar from hitting the floor?

I've got some of >these< on my guitars. Never had a problem with them at all. Whichever you decide on, they are defanately worth it!

I've got the same thing. I've got the "fire wheel" ones, in chrome. they work great! only thing is, I can't fit my guitar into the case without taking off the strap first. not a biggie though, the strap is easy enough to take off and put back on.

You can repair the screw-hole by dipping the pointy end of a flat toothpick in wood glue and sticking it in the hole. Push it against one side of the hole and hold it there. When the glue is dry, snap off the toothpick flush with the guitar body. Now re-install the strap-button.

And while you're deciding what kind of strap-lock system you want to use, you can poor-boy it by using the plastic tab from a loaf of bread. Just snap it onto the strap button after you put the strap on. Not real convenient, but it's dirt cheap.

I'll mail you one if you want. too bad postage just went up for the new year now.. it's like 39 cents now, instead of 37, right?

whatever, just send me an e-mail (click my screen name, and click "send an e-mail to 6strngs_2hmbkrs") with a mailing address, and I'll send you a couple.
