Hey all, you may remember me. I asked how to fix my 'levitating bridge' problem about a month ago. Now that's all well and good, but my guitar won't stay in tune very well. I have this book called 'totally guitar' (good book, by the way) that says this could be because my intonation is all buggered up. Only thing is, it doesn't give much detail on how to fix it. Can anyone tell me in detail what to do?

Starting with the Low E string, you adjust the string length untill both the open string ( E ) and the 12th fret ( a higher E ) are bringing the needle of the tuner to the middle.

Repeat the process for the five remaining strings and the Physics of the strings will be correct - your guitar should...................SING

if you play a harmonic at the 12th fret on the low E, then play the actual fret, if its a bit sharp, increase the length of the string (turn the screw in). if its a bit flat, make the string shorter :)

work your way up the strings and enjoy, it'll take ages on those things :p

It works! It even does!

Luckily, 4 of my strings were already perfectly intonified. It still took forever, though. I had another related question to post, but I seem to have momentarily forgotten. I'm sure to remember at some point, so stay tuned (pun intended). Also, that pun was lame.
