This site has been fantastic for me.. I got my first guitar when I 12 and my dad bought me a "68" blue Fender Mustang. I have taken so many guitar lesson I think Mel Bay is one of my family. The only problem was I stunk at playing the guitar. I practiced my brains out. I could read music, I memorized songs and my down fall was darn sheet music and guitar teachers that stuck to the lessons in the book. When I did learn scales I was learning from sheet music and then reading more music. Well with all this music knowedge I still stunk at playing the Guitar. I was not going to be one of those people who could do thouse great solo's. So I got discouraged. At the age of 40 I desided to switch to the bass my music knowelge with Keys and timing it was a snap. Well that worked for a while I would still pick up the guitar but I still stunk at it.. Well now I am over 50 and from coming to this site for the last week it finally hit me. I was so busy memorizing stuff that nothing was coming from with in.. Now I can't put the darn thing down, I grab a couple of licks and then go to one of the Jams and just experment with it from with in. What a difference. On top of that since I stunk I only had a Peavy Raptor Tele knock off. I got so excited the other day I ordered a Schecter C1 Classic online It came in today and I have been playing it all night. What a differnce, with only the peavy and acouple of slammers to compare it to this Guitar is a dream. I will never be lighting fast (age is catching up with my hands., and the 60's and seventies were tough on the brain) but I have learned a quality guitar can increace your speed dramaticlly plus it sounds a lot better. Well any way for all you young wipper snappers if you serious about learning this stuff, This is a great site.

Congrats on finding the spark again.

I got the 3 tone sunburst. It is beautiful.I took a chance and ordered it with out trying it. I think I read every rewiew on it. There wasn't one bad one and they get great ratings.. Any it was like winning the lottery, I love it.. If I got one of these many years ago maybe I wouldn't have been married 3 times.. I would have never come out of my room....

LOL. :)

You're not the only one here who's in that age group. I tell people that I'm old enough to teach The History Of Rock'n'Roll from memory, if only I could remember... :o

Im planning to buy a PRS or a Jackson SL2, but if its cheaper, I will also definitely buy that one.
