Ok so I was polishing my Sg, with some stuff that I know works and had worked fine before, but last time I polished it, like usual I sprayed the stuff right onto the surface of the guitar. The problem is that I left some polish on areound the volume controls and it became sticky. How should I get it off????

Take off the knobs and spray some polish where it is now sticky. Then wipe it off.

well, what I usually do is spray the polish onto the cloth, and then wipe... but now that it's too late for that. I'd say take a cloth and get it slightly wet with plain water, and try wiping it off with that. the water won't hurt the guitar unless it's you poured like a bucket on it. the finish on the guitar is probably oil based, so the water should roll off like on a ducks feathers (or a pair of dickies pants :D) so just wipe it with that, then wipe it off with a dry cloth, see what happens.
