Congratulations on getting a job. My only advice would be.... Don't be too quick to throw your money away on stuff. Be sure you put some back for a rainy day. You never know when you may really need it. Learn to be a saver now, and it will be a lot easier on you when you get older. Set you up a budget! Something like...

$_____ for food
$_____ for gas (for whenever you get a car)
$_____ for bills
$_____ savings

--------------------

Anything left over can go here:

$_____ gear fund
$_____ pocket money / miscellanious

It might take longer to save for the stuff you want, but needs outway wants any day of the week. Plus, you'll know where your money is going, and wont have to worry if you'll have enough for this or that.

Sorry if I put a damper on your excitement, but I wish i had had someone tell/teach me this when I was your age. Just some friendly advice. ;)
