im playin n learnin since last year. im generally focused on alternate picking and soloing technic... then i start to think about chords. whatever, i look for chord lessons in here and other sources...

tadaaa! im stuck in barre! :p

i know its hardest thing for beginner in chords, but i feel like physically not able to do this... coverin all strings with first finger is ok, but other fingertips cover more than their responsible strings...

btw, i playin electric...
m i tryin to do smthin wrong, like acustic technic on electric?

You'll be able to do it, it just takes some time.

Barre chords used to get me when I was first starting to play as well ... I found it easier, to pracise getting the shape right, to finger the chord shape without the barre first, and then barre the strings with the index finger ....

They're not too difficult though, it just takes a bit of practise to get used to it.

When learning, practice the barres first in the middle of the neck, where the string tension is less of a fight... :D

Also, try trilling between all pairs of fingers to build strength - do one minute for each pair of fingers if you can!!!

I learnt to barre on an acoustic - took me ages, but like evrything else it's just practice, muscle memory and finger strength.

Hey lots of good advise above maybe also consider doing finger exercises when not on guitar. Be careful with the commercial guitar finger squeezers as they now claim to start RSI.(repetitive strain injury)
Refer http://eeshop.unl.edu/music.html

Suggest squeeze a soft ball slowly and release that fits in your fretting hand. Keep it simple but consistant especially on first digit finger say 100 times a day move up 300 times a day incrementing 10 extra a day (i,e 100 then 110, then 120 etc) so in twenty days you can break the guitar neck with your bare hands...just kidding
