copper slides cheap?

i got a new job at a farm supply hardware store and seen nice peices of copper slide sized for $2.00
would they make a good cheap slide?

i only had a few cents today so i got a short little tigh peice that almost covers6 strings but i never played slide b4
was wondering if copper slides are common. i think they are or if anyone plays copper slide here

Yep, made a couple out of 3/4"hard copper, polished and cut to whatever length that suits. I also made one from a 3/4" copper coupling with dimples, not ridge, so that the string wouldn't cut into the slotted ridge. They sound sweeeeeet :p

i use copper for acoustics.

yeah, you can make some cheap slides out of alot of things...
me, i use a broken champane botte neck as my slide haha it works and sounds great.
