Anyone know if squirting lighter fluid on a guitar and lighting it on fire will hurt an amp if it's still plugged in? Haha, I know, why burn a guitar and waste an instrument? The body is already cracked from the neck halfway down the body and the neck is warped, not worth anything anyway, it's a Peavey Predator...plus it was given to me...

I don't think it would hurt the amp however the fire marshall might have something to say about it !!

Phrases like "Great White" and "**** I'm on fire" spring to mind !!

Well, the last time I was at this club, the bartender lit a roman candle and was shooting the fireballs all over the club. It's a wild place, so I ain't worried about the fire marshall, we'll just light him on fire if he has anything to say, Ha......

I didn't think it would have an affect on the amp, but thought I'd ask to be sure. Don't want to fry my Marshall if I go through with lighting it up....

Turn the input volume all the way off, or unplug the jack. Otherwise you'll get the same kind of pop and crackle that you get when you plug a cord into a guitar with the amp volume turned up.

No, I won't tell you how I know that...

It wouldn't hurt the amp at all... unles the cord catches fire and the fire spreads to the amp. But that won't happen. I was greatly dissappointed when I lit my guitar on fire. It didn't burn quite as well as I thought it would. But I still play it!! haha. It's been through hell

I saw Michael Anthony (Van Halen bassist) light his bass up one time, and he still had it plugged up with the volume up. It just made these loud hissing and whistling sounds that were pretty cool.

You should light the head and upper frets on fire, play a bitching solo untill the fire is dieing, then smash it on stage. U might have someone unplug it right before you smash it just in case of loud screeching coming out of ur amp, I dunno if that would harm the speakers. Ne one know if it does?

Hmm...I think staying on pace is pretty crucial for a drummer... I mean, I knew a guitarist that would get ahead of the beat and REALLY annoy me, but I think a drummer doing it would drive me insane.

My drummer can handle catching himself on fire pretty good. Before I was part of the band, he was taking care of the "pyro" one night by using a spray paint can and a lighter. What he didn't realize was that while he was shooting the flame up into the air, the paint was steadily running down his hand. When he stopped, the flame came back and cought his hand on fire. He didn't realize it until he made half way across the room (how do you not know your hand is on fire  ). Needless to say, his hand was pretty messed up.
