Metal Soloing
OK so I play mostly Blues/classic rock and I really want to expand a little into metal, I have the palm muting and pinch harmonics down. But metal solos, is there a scale for metal solos (because im pretty sure its not the pentatonic or blues scales)is it just knowing what notes will sound "metally" or do u just pick random notes and play them really fast or what?

Most metal solos usually fall into 2 modes of the major scale. Natural Minor, and Phrygian. There's the occasional times that harmonic minor is used as well.
Metal is usually written in minor so minor pentatonic works as well. (See: Metallica) Learn about the modes of the major scale and you should have it licked.

The diminished scale is actually part of the harmonic minor scale. The notes from the diminished scale are in there.

ok mate, jus practise any scale, getting faster and faster, intill ur fingers cant take it. etc etc i found by learning other metal solos helps alot, then u can expand on that!..
ok now how did u do the pinch harmonics, i cant do them :D
