Correction on this one: Ry Cooder didn't play on the soundtrack of Dead Man, it was Mr. Neil Young; in my opinion one of the greatest musicians of the last 3 decades.
Just hear his guitarwork on 'Cortez the Killer' and you'll know what I mean. Or the entire 'sleeps with angels' album.
The soundtrack to Dead Man is brilliant, too. The acoustic guitar theme of the movie is my favorite song to play on a western guitar.
Besides that, on the album of Dead Man he elaborates on a few simple themes, just him and a heavily distorted guitar. That's it. It lasts for an hour or so and creates a raw emotional and haunting listen. Just brilliant!

yo, u shud look up michalangelo batio, hes the most rapid guitarist iv evr seen. go on www.angelo.com an cluik on speed lives. ul cry dude! but u realy shudnt try 2 imperson8 any guitarist, just play from the soul man! batio is rapid but i stil fink hendrix is beter; he played from the heart and no guitarist can play could ever play beter than hendrix. he is god! basicly listen 2 hendrix alot and then play what u feel, learn blues, do wot u want but if u want to b good, learn jiony b good! but still wach batio, hes a god 2!

Django Reinhardt.. the only guitarist in history that played with 2 fingers and still had awesome solos. This guy is from the 1930's.
