Try Dave Mason. His Alone Together album is great, especially the long bluesy solo on "Look At You, Look At Me". There are lots of others; all of the guitar on Elton John's Goodbye Yellow Brick Road album is good as well as the guitar on the Moody Blues Seventh Sojourn album. Robin Trower's Bridge of Sighs album is awesome.
