For some reason, when using my brother's GT3 FX pedal (I don't own an amp :(), the unit won't give an output on some effects or when put through a tuner. It's not faulty equipment because the GT3 works fine on other guitars (we've tested it) and I can't get a sound out of an amp I tried out at my school. What gets me is that obviously some output is coming from the guitar, as certain effects on the GT3 do work normally, but most are not. Has anyone got any suggestions as what I need to fiddle with? I'm on a budget and can't afford to take my guitar in for repairs as I need the cash to fork out for a POD in the place of an amp.

Hope you can help me out here,

alex

I'm sure you already thought of this, but were you using the same patch cable each time?

I suppose you should make sure that the cable plug-in on your guitar isn't loose too.

What good is getting a POD if the guitar isn't working. Spend $20 and find out the truth.

There are many possible reasons:
1. The cable you use is wrong (possible if you use the same one everytime).
2. The jack in the guitar is too loose, can be fixed by pushing a little to the middle the piece of metal in it.
3. There's a problem with the pickup selector. This is what happened to my LP, if it's the case, you may have to change it.

and the worst...

4. Your pickup is screwed up. This is the most expensive thing to fix.

You should take it to repair instead of buying the pod, or take the risk of opening it and finding by yourself (don't do it if you don't know about electronics).
