hey, i'm fairly new here so i'm not sure if this the right place to post this but if any of you fancy listening to some of my bands recordings that'd be cool. the recordings are only demo quality and have yet to be mixed.
any thots would be appreciated, i'd be interested in some im-partial opinions.
we're at http://www.purevolume.com/acquitted just click on one of the songs in the player. ;)

Andrew

PS the song 16:26 is probably the most finished.

thanks for your kind words. i've been with the band for just over 2 years, i've been giving more responsibility of writing the music recently and am enjoying the challenge! :D

I think you and your band are in for a great future. What I heard on your site is the kind of stuff that I enjoy listening to on my ride to work. It's about a 45 minute ride one way. And this kind of music really makes the time pass. Keep up the good work and if your band ever releases an album, please reserve a copy for me.

Good Luck and Take Care,

D.H.

Musically this is amazing. Great melodies you've chosen for the vocal parts. However, the subject matter of your songs has a limited appeal, and it is difficult (to say the least) to write a song about and sound different from everyone else. I admit, you guys sound much better than most Christian rock bands I've heard...but I really don't like that genre.

To be honest, here's my review: great music, lyrics not-so-hot-so.

I say this because those kind of lyrics not only appeal to a minority (mostly born-again Christians), but also appeal to a minority less likely to have rampant, uncommited sex with the band members (hahaha, just kidding, just kidding). But trust me, don't write lyrics about the Bible unless you are the most brilliant lyricist of our time. Try something more people of all religions can identify with (I say this, myself, being Christian).

well that made me happy cos i write the music and not the words :p

but seriously thanks for your constructive criticism, we'll take that into consideration cos its important that the lyrics come across as challenging to both Christians and non-Christians alike. great advice Jolly, thanks. :)

Hey, thanks for accepting it! I was a little worried you'd take offense. It's wonderful to see a songwriter willing to take criticism, especially from someone who himself isn't a great lyricist by any means (see purevolume.com/bobtotherescue ) hahaha! :D
