Help w/Ibanez

I have an Ibanez GAX70. I would like to know if I can put the 24 fret
Wizard II neck on it, also made by Ibanez. I think it would be a nice upgrade but I don't want to buy the neck and then have it not fit. Any body had any experience with something of this nature?

I would venture to guess, probably not, you have two things to consider, are the necks the same scale length, if not you'll have a 24 fret guitar that will never play in tune, and are their any mechanical considerations, like will the placement of the neck pick-up allow for a longer fretboard? I'm no Ibanez guru but those are two realities you will have to deal with, I hope in works out for you..................

I have a GAX70 and it makes a worthy beater...something to put stickers on and spill your beer all over.I can't see any reason to upgrade it.Just save up for something good with a 24th fret.

Yeah they got it right on the money... $hit just don't magically change... only way possible for you to be able to do it is if the 24 fret neck is the same scale length as the neck you have on now... for instance if your 21-22 fret neck is a 25.5" scale, and the 24 fret Ibenhad neck is 25.5" then you could interchange it...

Thanks for the help! I'll save my cash and buy a better guitar later on. This one is still doing the job for now.
