It came out when I was in high school, approximately junior high. Loved the video, those steaming roads you see in NY. Are they breathing holes for the underground trainways or what?
I'm suspecting it was a cover of some older song, but the one I know is by Shine Head.
Wait, actually it is a cover. Shine head sings he's a Jamaican in NY, and I think I've heard someone sing that he's an Englishman in NY. I think the Englishman was the original, the Jamaican the cover. I don't know who the Englishman was.
Maybe Lordathestrings knows.
