yeah.. i dunno its tough, i love my amp its killer for everything, except metal, which is what i play in my band.. so for gigs its not worth the effort.. does anyone know of a good cheap 100w combo amp with good disto?

Have you tried using it with a stomp box or a pod ?

If you want an amp with a good metal dist , check out marshall tsl or mesa boogie dual recto ... I know there's a 100w combo for the tsl , but I think the dual recto is only available as stack.

I'm sure that your amp should sound awesome if you used a boss pedal like DS-1 or Metal Zone if you're goin really heavy.

If you still want to know how much your amp cost , I did a quick search and found an exactly similar head here .
That's a starting bid though , I think it will end up much more than that.

haha yeah.. ive gotten some disto pedals, never been very happy about them because theyre very pin pointed to a genre, and while i mostly play metal, i also play some blues and some older less disto rock.. i also hate bringing my amp around to gigs, the previous owner broke a castor off... and im guessing the rest are going to go soon to if i keep birnging it places.. so i was thinkin about a 2x12driver combo orsomething

Check out the Boss OD-20 Drive zone. It is about 150 new and will do everything from a blues driver / tube screamer to dropped octave nuclear meltdown !

I have one and it is cool (though I have never had to use it with my TSL!!)!

I still say keep this vintage amp , and use stomp boxes or a multi-effect unit with it ... I use Boss GT-3 with my Fender Vibrolux Reverb tube amp , and I love the versatility I get from it added to the vintage tube amp quality that complements the tone.

However , if you insist on getting a 2x12 combo , check this out ... Or you can get the head for less money and use it with the cab you have.

yeah ive decided to keep my vintage amp.. but i still would like to have a litteler.. littler.. smaller gig amp that i can just toss in the back of the car and thats the end of it instead of carrying my head not by the fragile handle but hugging it and not beign able to wheel my cab around as the castor broke and the replacement is not the right size so its pretty wobbley

so i was thinking maybe somethin cheapp like a used thing.. ive narrowed it down to crate randel and marshall.. also has anyone had any expirence with madison amps? they look pretty kickass.. but i dunno about them well enough to spend some money on it..

and btw.. by cheap i dont mean a $1700 combo lol i just dont have that kind of money.. i mean like $200-300..

My friend has a spider 2 from line 6. Its not bad as i would say metal is its best feature and maybe clean. I not much into solid state but thats my take on line 6 products. There also fairly cheap amps and have semi versitility if you like solids.
WWSD? What would stevie do?
