I'm looking for a reverb unit for under $300. It can be either a rack mount or a pedal, but has to have a wide variety of reverb. It can also have other effects as well, but I'm mainly just looking for reverb that can be bypassed with a footswitch. Anybody have any ideas?

Here's a list of some that I've found that are under $300:
Lexicon MPX-110
Alesis Midiverb
Digitech S100
Boss RV-5
Behringer V-Verb
Alto Alphaverb
Peavey Deltaflex

I am interested in the RV-5, be good to know what your impressions of it are like. I will probably see if I can pick one up on eBay.

I will let you know if I get there first !

I have a midiverb IV and it is great ! I have only used it as an insert for my mic pre as the foot controller options are limited and it likes line level signal. It would be fun to stick it in an effects loop and run it off of a midi-controller floor bored !

That's kinda what I'm thinking about (midiverb). I don't know if it would work with the midiverb, but digitech makes a 3 button footswitch that is for changing channels up and down and a bypass switch. That would be just right for me. I have GAS bad now! I also just got an MXR ZW-44 overdrive pedal, and it is great! took some tweaking to get it right, but its there. The Classic 50 is unstoppable now... :D . And now, I'm about to try out a Schecter C-1 Blackjack guitar since I'm in a band now and need a backup. This is the worst GAS I've ever had :(

Man, I'm in the middle of a 4 year bout of very bad GAS.... Im glad Im not our washing machine !

I guess it makes up for all those hungry years as a student

I'll have a look at the midiverb manual when I get home tonight see if it mentions anything about midi control.

Yep controlling the midiverb via a midi floor controller should be dead easy.

I think I've decided on a T.C. Electronics G-Major. I'm going to try to find one on ebay. What do you think about it?

I think Azrael uses one, I have not used one but have heard that they are really cool !

Any more news on the Aliesis foot pedal thing, I was gona have a look last-night but got side tracked.

Im planning to get a hold of a TSL 100 in the next couple of months and running the midiverb through one of the effects loops would be very cool !

That's what I plan on doing with whatever unit it get (minus the whole TSL 100, not enough GAS funds to go that far :( ). Next on the list is a 100watt Marshall head, just not sure what model yet.

Ohhhbaby

PRS and Marshall are a very sweet combination !

Im running my CE24 through an MG15 II microstack (all 15 watts of it) and it is just orgasmic ! Even though it is 100% solid state amp (nice tight bottom end)!

I'm thinking JCM 800 or 900. Most people associate PRS with a Boogie, but I'm with you on PRS and Marshall. Cant beat the Marshall crunch with the PRS smooth hot fattness. I found a G-Major to bid on and it comes with a 3 button switch for it, lets just hope I don't get out bid :o . Check out item # 3743152776 if you want to take a look at it.

Just ordered that TSL100 / 1960A /powerbreak so Im pretty safe as far as ebay is concerned, well at leas for the next couple of months !!

As far as ebay goes I have a fairly good strategy. Work out the maximum you are willing to part with and wait for the very last minuet them make your maximum bid. The autobid this make the lowest bid it can whilst making sure you still win in!

Im gona enjoy sticking the midiverb in the FX loop, I'll let you know how it works out !

Out of all my gear (minus my first guitar ever which I still have) I've had my Marshall 1960A cab the longest. I just couldn't let myself get rid of it. It's awsome paired with my classic 50 combo. Makes the amp sound meaner and fuller. It can also handle alot of power too. I used to have a POD Pro going through a Mackie M800 power amp ran wide open. Talk about loud  . I couldn't imagine the volume a full stack could put out.

On another note. My new guitar is supposed to be here today. It's a Schecter C1 Blackjack. I only have the PRS and now that I'm in a band, I need another axe. So, for the price and versatility, I chose to try the blackjack out. I'll give a full report on it later.

Look forward to reading about it, I have never played a Schecter, they look really nice however our paths have just never crossed ! Be very interesting to see if it holds its own against a PRS. I got a 60s reissue LP recently and it is very nice however the CE24 still blows it away !

As for the 1960 cabs they can allegedly handle about 300 W, and that is just loud ! Might have to plug my MG15 head into it... just to see what happens !

I've never played a Schecter or ordered a guitar online, so, I'm pretty nervouse about it. I was running the POD and amp stereo at 8ohm's so I was feeding the cab around 350watts, which is about the same as 100 tube watts when it comes to volume.

I have finally got round to plugging my midiverb into my patch bay along with my Focusrite insert points and the loop on my podpro. Man patching the midiverb through the pod is just sonic mayhem ! Fantastic !

Anyway that made me think of midi foot controllers and I tonk I have found a couple that would work. The best looking on (avoiding Beheringer on principle) seems to be the Digitech midi controller X clocking in at about 180-190 bucks. That is whey expensive but seems to be the going rate.

A nice thing with the midi verb you can plug a standard non-latching foot pedal into the back of it and use it to advance your user patches. Consequently if you have a on/off switchable fx loop you van plug it in after lining up the patches you want one after another in the user bank and just advance through them as the gig proceeds turning them on and off as necessary !

That is my plan anyway !

I win!

I won the bid on the T.C. Electronics G-Major. Closing cost was $445 and that was with the G-Minor footcontroller which runs over $100 on it's on. Hopefully I'll have it by sometime next week(stupid paypal wont have or get my $ 'till thursday  ). Full report when time comes...
