Just like it says above, 'how can you record yourself onto your computer?'. I have such sound editors as Sound Forge and Cakewalk if that makes it any easier.

No I don't, is there any way I can just connect my guitar up through the amp, then get a chord that comes out my headphone output into my computer line in? I tried this earlier with sound recorder and it was really quite, any reasons why, (I was connected directly through my amp, and yes it was turned up).

Hook the headphones out (or Line out) from your amp into the MIC jack in the back of your puter...you'll need a 1/4" to 1/8" adapter. when you do this make sure the mic gain is turned all the way down (DOUBLE-CLICK the speaker on your task bar to bring up the volume controls for your inputs). Have your amp turned up to a reasonable volume and slowly bring the mic volume up until you here it good and it doesn't distort.....At this point, all you need to do is use a software program to record what you want as a wave file.....I could go alot farther into explaining this, but I think you get the jist and I hate typing long rsponses :).....V :D

using that same adapter mentioned before, you can plug your guitar directly in for a clean sound with no loss due to equipment...some programs can then add effects.
