Description

In this blues orchestration tutorial we'll learn to move the familiar pattern of the boogie diad on the lower strings and move it up an octave to play it in a higher register. By adding this to the index finger barre as a sort of movable capo we can play this pattern in any key!

Many guitarists are familiar with the idea of playing a blues on the lower strings. This time let's use the same idea, but play some of the notes an octave higher. This gives us another option for playing the blues that sounds a little different than the first one.

We'll keep the bottom bass note A, but play it on the E string at the 5th fret. We'll move the notes E & F-sharp up an octave from the D string to the B string.
