Jack White used a cheap hollowbody guitar to record this song, but any guitar can easily be used to play this tune. The tones have much more to do with the amp and effect settings. I’m playing a Telecaster style guitar set to the neck pickup for a round, warm tone.

As far as amps go, any tube amp is a great choice. Set up the amp for an edgy crunch sound.. Set the Drive to 40%, Bass to 50%, Mid to 50%, Treble to 65%, and Presence to 65%.

Guitar 1 uses a Whammy Pedal set for one octave lower for a sound that mimics a bass guitar. Guitar 3 uses a Fuzz effect for a searing lead tone.

I’m using 10-46 gage with a heavy pick to dig into these massive riffs and leads.

Here are the settings I used:

Fender Tweed Model:
Drive: 40% Bass: 50% Mid: 50% Treb: 65% Presence: 65%
Whammy Pedal (Guitar 1):
Octave: -1 WetDryMIX: 100%
Big Muff Fuzz Pedal (Guitar 3):
Gain: 85% Tone: 85% Level: 75%
