I’m using a Telecaster set to the bridge pickup for both guitar layers, but any guitar is suitable. The tones have more to do with the amp and effects choices.

As far as amps go, any Fender style tube amp is a desirable choice. Set the amp for a clean sound. Set the Drive to 25%, Bass to 45%, Mid to 55%, Treble to 60%, and Presence to 60%.

Guitar 1 uses plenty of chorus and reverb for a shimmery, 80s clean vibe. For Guitar 2, kick in a distortion pedal for some crunch and sustain. Guitar 2 also kicks in a slapback echo for the outro solo.

I’m using 10-46 gage and with a heavy pick with both guitars.

Here are the settings I used:

Fender Deluxe Model:
Drive: 25% Bass: 45% Mid: 55% Treb: 60% Presence: 60%
Chorus (Guitar 1):
Rate: 35% Depth: 60% Wet/DryMIX: 40%
Boss DS-1 (Guitar 2):
Gain: 75% Tone: 50% Level: 65%
SlapBack Echo (Guitar 2):
Time: 120ms Feedback: 5% Wet/DryMIX: 40%
Hall Reverb: WetDryMIX: 40%
