I'm using a Les Paul for this tune, but any guitar is suitable. The tones have more to do with the amp settings. I'm choosing the bridge pickup for a more clear, powerful sound.

As far as amps go, any modern high gain tube amp such as a Diezel is a desirable choice.

If your amp has channel switching, set channel 1 for clean and channel 2 for heavy crunch. Start by dialing the Bass to 50%, Mid to 60%, Treble to 60%, and Presence to 65%. For the clean parts, set the Drive to 30%, then set the Drive to 85% for the crunch parts. Alternatively, you could set your amp for clean, and kick in a distortion pedal for the heavy crunch parts.

There is also some use of digital delay and wah in various sections of the tune. Add some reverb for depth.

I used a 10-46 string gage, with a heavy pick so I can dig into those heavy riffs.
Here are the settings I used:

Diezel Model:
Drive: 85% Bass: 50% Mid: 60% Treb: 60% Presence: 65%
Digital Delay:
Time: 400ms Feedback: 30% WetDryMIX: 35%
Spring Reverb:
WetDryMIX: 35%
