Description

There are 2 guitar layers in this song. Guitar 1 uses a distorted, effected tone and plays unison bends, heavy octaves, dropped D power chords, and other textural parts. Guitar 2 uses a clean but still effected tone to play quieter, washed out, chorusey chords and diads.
The intro starts at a low dynamic as Guitar 1 enters with feedback, gradually building the tension until the band kicks in. The verse is the lowest dynamic of the arrangement using Guitar 2's clean sound. The pre-chorus and chorus quickly ramp up the dynamic level to heavy and loud.

The tune ends off with some climactic riffing from Guitar 1, bringing the tune to an exciting end.

To play this tune using one guitar, simply play Guitar 1 throughout, switching to Guitar 2 for the verses.

Tune your guitar for Dropped D to play along with this tutorial.

In the following lessons, we'll talk about unison bending, octaves, dropped D chord shapes, and dynamics. We are in the key of D minor, with a 4/4 time signature, at a tempo of 75 BPM.
