These are just a couple cool little noisy licks that set up the build that the rhythm guitar is doing in the intro. Start out with the bend lick on the "and" of 2. Then when the drums come in you'll feel where the two hits on the high strings will land. This is a really interesting way of starting the song up.

Another interesting noisy part will appear in the very last verse. Basically what we'll be doing is grabbing a really high bend on the 20th fret of the B string, bending G to A and also grabbing the A on the B string. Then you just play the two A's throughout the verse. It gives a huge amount of urgency to the last verse. A really cool production idea that works great live as well.
