The chorus features some funky R&B style comping. We are up at the 8th position riffing off of a Cm7 chord shape. Again, the rhythm here is crucial, and while you will be using both 8th and 16th note strums, locking with the rhythm section is the most important aspect of the part.

The part itself takes a funk and R&B approach by combining double stops and single notes that nicely outline the vocal melody of the chorus. On the original recording, you'll hear many variations of the part as the guitarist took a bit of an improvisational approach.

My suggestion is to master the part I've taught, then take the concepts further once you're comfortable and push the ideas further into other great variations.
