Description

In this tutorial we're going to look at another extremely useful rhythm guitar technique which is used all the time in rock, and in almost any other style of music where guitars are involved. For this technique you play the notes of the chords one at a time, as opposed to hitting them all at the same time- like you do it when you strum a chord. I'm sure you'll recognize the sound of it.

A chord where the notes are played one at a time is called an "arpeggio", so we use the terms "arpeggiate" or "arpeggiation" to describe this technique. We are going to use the chords you already know to explore some of the most common uses of this classic guitar technique in some fun and useful examples, so let's get started!
