As beginners we are looking to build good technique, improve strength and dexterity and our ability to multitask; doing several things at the same time. Developing independence between our left and right hands is one of the challenges the beginner faces.

Use the slow play through to think about using all the left hand tips we talked about in the chord lesson, keep your moves small and your fingers close to the fingerboard! If you are going for the more advanced G chord, notice how much easier it is to travel back and forth to the C chord.

If the strum pattern seems like too much for starters just play a single down strum at the top of each chord. Hang out with the slow play through until you can both change chords and strum successfully.
