There's a cool section that happens after the first and second choruses, based on a VIm to IV chord progression (Em to C). The last time through this riff, you are building the dynamic into some wide open single shots with the rhythm section using D and Csus2 chords.

Contrast the dynamics of the second post-chorus with the first one. The second one definitely has a higher dynamic and builds up in to the final chorus, while the first post-chorus brings the dynamic way down and sets things up for the second verse. Think about the guitar's role in the arrangement when you're playing both of these sections.
