After two verses they go to a rippin' slide solo, and I'm gonna show you the first part of it in this lesson. This is performed in standard tuning, but it's using the same approach as most people do in open tuning, where you have your I chord on the 12th fret and open strings, your IV chord on the 5th fret, and your V chord on the 7th fret. The only difference is that in standard tuning we only have the D, G and B string to play with, as opposed to all 6 in the open tuning.
